The Big 12 may have addressed the issue of fan attendance this week without actually speaking to it. In an article published on Monday the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal dropped this little nugget of information.

The point of the article is how Texas Tech is preparing for far less than capacity crowds for the 2020 football season. However, the major takeaway from the article has to be that if all of the schools have agreed not to travel with bands or spirit groups then they’re more than likely making the same preparations as the Red Raiders.
“We have informed our band and spirit squads that there will be no travel to road games this year,” Texas Tech athletics director Robert Giovannetti said in the article. “I don’t know if the word would be ‘mandate’. I just think all the schools agreed, for safety and social distancing and everything, it would make the most sense.”
While there’s absolutely zero certainty over what will happen with the football season this fall, or if there will even be a season, one thing that is certain is that this decision by the Big 12 schools puts an end to any dreams anyone may have had about spending Saturday’s in Norman with 87,000 of their closest friends.
Last month the University of Oklahoma released that they were preparing for whatever seating capacity would be allowed this fall. Now if very much looks like that capacity number will be at half or lower.
