After an 8-day absence, it appears that Oklahoma City Thunder Sixth Man of the Year Finalist Dennis Schröder has made his return to the Disney Bubble.
Schröder posted a video to his Instagram story that looks like a view from inside his hotel room. He left the bubble on Monday, August 3rd to be with his expecting wife, who has since delivered their second child.
In Schröder’s absence, the Thunder went 2-3 in the bubble, and if all goes well, he will only need to quarantine for 4 more days before being able to return to the court. It is unclear if he returned on Monday or today, but it’s probably better to assume that he will indeed miss both Wednesday’s game against the Miami Heat and OKC’s final seeding game on Friday again the Los Angeles Clippers.
Despite missing all but one of the Thunder’s seeding games, having Schröder back for the playoffs is going to be key to OKC’s success. As Oklahoma City’s backup point guard, leader of the second unit, and 3rd-leading scorer, Schröder’s absence was one felt through each game in some shape or form.
