Make That The Top Four Receivers Missing For Florida – Copeland Tests Positive For COVID

I honestly didn’t intend to spend my day writing about Florida receivers but there news hasn’t stopped flowing. After the barrage of opt outs, the Gators are now going to miss yet another receiver after Jacob Copeland tested positive for COVID.

Clearly this is nothing to rejoice about for Oklahoma fans, as we wish Copeland a speedy recovery, but it puts the Florida offense in all kinds of a bind. With 23 catches on the season, Copeland was tied with Justin Shorter as the team’s leading receiver entering the Cotton Bowl game against Oklahoma on Wednesday evening. Now the Gators are going to have to move even further down the depth chart to freshman Xzavier Henderson (8 catches for 136 yards) and Trent Whittemore (8 catches for 81 yards) for passing targets.
