Oklahoma just got beat on the recruiting trail again!
It’s a frustration that also comes with the knowledge that the Sooners still have a Top 10 recruiting class in 2021.
Tristan Leigh was one of the few holdouts in terms of making a commitment for 2021 but the deed is now done and the choice was Clemson. A composite 5-star recruit by 247Sports, Leigh is the highest ranked recruit from the state of Virginia and the #4 offensive tackle in the nation. Behind Corona, California defensive end Korey Foreman, Leigh was the highest-ranked prospect yet to sign.
The Sooners couldn’t fend off a late surge from Clemson, despite the momentous swing to end the season. Florida, LSU, and Ohio State were also still in one the coveted offensive tackle during the final days of his recruitment, but it was the Tigers who secured Leigh’s signature on the dotted line.
Even without Leigh’s commitment the Sooners still have a Top 10 recruiting class with the #9 ranking nationally and the #1 class in the Big 12.
