A member of Oklahoma’s 2021 recruiting class has been elevated to the prestigious 5-star rating by the Rivals network. Linebacker/edge rusher Clayton Smith signed with the Sooners last month and is already on campus at OU for the spring semester. Now he’s a 5-star signee for the Sooners.
His elevation makes him the first 5-star defensive player since Brendan Radley-Hiles in the 2018 recruiting class. Before that was Caleb Kelly in the 2016 recruiting class. Prior to Kelly you’d have to go all the way back to RJ Washington in the 2008 class.
