The talent pouring in to the University of Oklahoma at the wide receiver position is undeniable. With the number of players on the roster for 2021, the amount of playing time diminishes for those not in feature roles. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear of upperclassmen hitting the transfer portal in an attempt to gain more minutes.
One such name is Theo Howard, a redshirt senior and former transfer from UCLA. Now a graduate transfer, the receiver is exploring his options according to Chris Hummer.
Recording 13 receptions, Howard appeared in ten games for the Oklahoma Sooners. Showcasing experience and talent in the early going, the receiver collected five catches and 63 yards in the season opener. However, Howard failed to produce more than a single catch in a game afterward with the exception of two against Texas Tech.
On the year, Howard is the third Sooner receiver to enter the transfer portal. He joins Charleston Rambo and Trevon West in looking for a new home.
