Porter Moser, the newly minted head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners, is wasting no time in surveying the current roster. Securing the commitment of one recruit, the program is looking to make in-roads with another. On Friday evening, a 6-11 forward/center announced that the university showed interest in his talents.
Jonas Aidoo previously committed to play at Marquette. However, at the end of March, the prospect had a change of heart which lead to the reopening of his recruitment. Immediately, coaches across the country took notice of the No. 60 overall recruiting the 2021 class.
At 6-11, Aidoo checks in a 215-pounds which leaves plenty of room on his frame to add strength and size. Yet what intrigues recruiters across the country is the ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc. With the height to play center, it presents a unique challenge for defenders willing to step out to the perimeter with the lean but tall player.
Knowing there is an immediate need in the front court at Oklahoma, this kid is likely high up on the list for Moser. However, he’ll have to compete with the likes of West Virginia, Kansas, and Houston in pulling the talented prospect from his home state of North Carolina.
