Transfer Brady Manek Headed To UNC

For the first time in his career as a high school or collegiate athlete, Brady Manek will suit up for a program located outside the Sooner State.

Seeking an experienced player with the ability to stretch the floor, Head Coach Hubert Davis monitored the transfer portal. Showing an interest in Manek, the forward reciprocated despite the distance between Harrah, Oklahoma and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. On Tuesday, the two made it official as the transfer announced the intention to play for the Tarheels in the upcoming season.

Citing a couple of reasons why the UNC sought the talents of Manek, a source of 247Sports said, “Manek was a top portal target by the Carolina staff for two main reasons. First and foremost, improving the team’s perimeter shooting ability was a priority and Manek has proven that with consistency in a major conference each of the last four years. Secondly, his skillset makes him a ‘great complement’ in the frontcourt to Armando Bacot, who is testing the NBA draft waters after an All-ACC sophomore season for the Tar Heels.”

This is the second pull from the transfer portal for Davis and UNC. As a well established entity in the college basketball world, North Carolina is look to return to dominance. Will this turn of events and a fresh mentality be what the university ordered?
