If you’re a fan of recruiting fireworks then 4th of July weekend was exactly what you were looking for. After a handful of decommitments pulled Oklahoma’s class down last month the Sooners hauled in three verbal commitments on Independence Day, and four on the weekend, to surge back in the Top 10 nationally.
The additions of Jacob Sexton, Robert Spears-Jennings, Xavion Brice, and Derrick Moore put Oklahoma on the heels of Texas for the top spot in the Big 12 and a #8 spot nationally with the Longhorns being less than a point and a half ahead of them, per 247Sports.
On the Rivals network the Sooners are #6 six and are nipping at the heels of LSU in the #5 spot. Rivals also has Oklahoma as the top team in the Big 12 following the 4th of July weekend.
Oklahoma’s 2022 recruiting class currently stands at 12 commitments and is far from being complete. The positional breakdown for the class is as follows.
Defensive Back (2)
Defensive Line (1)
Linebacker (2)
Offensive Line (2)
