The top player from the state of Florida, #2 defensive lineman, and #3 overall recruit for the 2022 recruiting class has narrowed down his choices to two schools. On Saturday afternoon Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy narrowed down his 23 scholarship offers to either Oklahoma or Texas A&M. The 6-3/280 5-star product from Lakeland, Florida has been thought to be a “must get” target for Alex Grinch and the Sooner defense and this could be viewed as them getting one more step closer to making him the cornerstone of the class.
247Sports has four crystal ball predictions for Brownlow-Dindy and all four of them are in favor of Oklahoma. That doesn’t mean that Calvin Thibodeaux has it wrapped up though. He’s going toe-to-toe with Texas A&M defensive tackles coach Elijah Robinson to close the deal. Robinson was able to land 5-star defensive tackle DeMarvin Leal in the 2018 recruiting class and has his sights set on nabbing his second 5-star recruit with Brownlow-Dindy. Thibodeaux has never landed a 5-star recruit but he’s also never secured a recruit who was rated less than 4 stars.
Oklahoma currently has 14 commitments for the 2022 recruiting class. Six of those are on the defensive side of the ball but the Sooners have yet to secure an interior defensive lineman. Brownlow-Dindy is scheduled to visit Norman on September 17.
