Update: Oklahoma/Tulane Football Game Officially Moved To Norman

Update: Oklahoma’s season opener against Tulane has officially been moved to Norman. The game will kickoff, as scheduled, at 11:00 AM (CT).

Ticket information for the game will go out to season ticket holders via email this evening. If any seats are unclaimed in that process, they will go on sale Friday.

Hurricane Ida didn’t cancel Oklahoma’s season opener against Tulane…it just moved it. Well…maybe. According to Carey Murdock, the Sooners will receive a “bonus home game” as a result of the storm with the Green Wave heading to Norman. Murdock confirmed the location swap late this morning via Twitter.

Later in the afternoon Tulane athletic director Troy Dannen said that it was still uncertain if the game would be played or not. However, should the game go on then it will be in Norman. I would look at this as a “we’re still negotiating” type of statement from Dannen. The Tulane football team relocated to Birmingham for this week so that they could prepare. I don’t see them backing out at this point.

We’ll provide more updates on this evolving situation as information becomes available.
