The defending national champions are returning to the softball diamond and fans will have a limited opportunity to see Patty Gasso and the Sooners this fall before that take a hiatus leading up to the regular season in the spring. OU returns USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Jocelyn Alo, along with four other All-Americans in Jayda Coleman, 2021 NFCA Freshman of the Year Tiare Jennings, Kinzie Hansen and Grace Lyons, from last year’s national title team.
Coming off a record-breaking 2021 season, Oklahoma finish with a 56-4 overall record and won the program’s fifth national title. The Sooners will get ready for their title defense by playing five games this fall. Four of the five games, plus and intrasquad scrimmage, will take place next month and then OU will close out the fall season with one game in November.
The Sooners will open against North Central Texas College on Wednesday, October 13th and then will host Oklahoma Baptist on Friday, October 15th. The next week OU will host Seminole State on October 20th, and then West Texas A&M on October 22nd.
OU will host an intrasquad scrimmage October 29th (closed to the public) before North Texas comes to Norman on November 11th for the final game of the fall season.
