Thunder/Hornets Trends Against The Total
- OKC is hitting the over 47% of the time this season.
- The Grizzlies are hitting the over 48% of the time this season.
- The Thunder is 18-16 against the over at home.
- Memphis is 18-17 against the over on the road.
The Hornets defeated the Thunder 121-98 in their first meeting on January 21st.
Why the Thunder Will Cover (+10.0)
The Thunder did their best to stage a comeback last night against the Memphis Grizzlies, and despite trailing by double digits late in the fourth quarter, they managed to cut the deficit to 6 in the final minute. Memphis won, but OKC covered easily. Charlotte enters tonight’s game after a couple days of rest, while the Thunder is playing the second game of a back-to-back. Still, the Hornets are not used to being double-digit favorites on the road, and as electric as the home crowd was last night, I anticipate an energized Thunder squad that should cover the spread and might even manage to pull out a win.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (231.5)
Hitting the over on the point total is the name of the game for the Oklahoma City Thunder lately. I don’t see any reason why they won’t be able to continue that trend when the Hornets are the highest-scoring team in the league AND they allow the third most points in the NBA.
