Justin Harrington Back With The Sooners

Perhaps the transfer portal wasn’t what Justin Harrington thought it was going to be. Or, perhaps the coaching staff changes were just what he needed. Maybe it was a little bit of both. Regardless, Harrington, who entered the transfer portal last October, has bounced back out and was a participant in Oklahoma’s spring practice on Friday.

Arriving to Oklahoma before the 2020 season, from Bakersfield College, Harrington was a victim of injury and a stacked depth chart. Those two things factored into him placing himself into the portal last fall but it’s uncertain yet as to what the contributing factors were to him coming back out of the portal in Norman.

It is confirmed that he’s working out at safety so now there’s a little more drama to the defensive backfield where it’s presumed Justin Broiles, Key Lawrence, Billy Bowman, and now Justin Harrington will compete for two spots left open by the departures of Pat Fields and Delarrin Turner-Yell.

  1. I was Justin’s position coach in high school. Justin is a great athlete that thrives for the moment in big games. Not only can he make a impact on defense ……as a wide receiver he is a monster. Never saw him lose a jump ball at the at the wide position during the years i coached him.
