Dillon Gabriel Currently Has The 6th Best Odds For The 2022 Heisman

According to DraftKings Oklahoma quarterback Dillion Gabriel currently has the sixth best odds to take home the Heisman Trophy in December. Considering the lefty from Hawaii has yet to play in anything more than a scrimmage for the Sooners, being that high on the odds list is only going to further raise fan expectations.

At +3000, Gabriel shares the same odds as Ohio State receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and is the fifth quarterback among the top six players with the highest odds. Texas running back Bijan Robinson has the highest odds among players who aren’t quarterbacks and Smith-Njiba is the second such player on the list.

Last fall Gabriel played in just three games for Central Florida before suffering a broken collarbone against Louisville. During his time on the field last fall he completed 68.6% of his passes for 818 yards and nine touchdowns with three picks. In all, the 6-0/200 signal caller accumulated 8,037 passing yards and 70 touchdowns, an average QB rating of 157.3, in less than three full seasons with the Golden Knights.

Gabriel will be surrounded by a bevy of talent at Oklahoma with future NFL draft picks at just about every position within the offense. During the spring game he completed 19 of his 28 pass attempts for 250 yards, with a score and an interception, while playing for both the red and the white teams. He will enter fall camp firmly entrenched as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback with a significant battle for the backup spot sure to take place.
