How are we already to the sixth week of the college football season? It seems to have taken that long for us to figure some things out in terms of handicapping games. Two of the three of us had a winning weekend last week and here’s to hoping that we can all three get there this weekend.

This Week’s Picks
Utah (-4) at UCLA | I realize that UCLA is off to their best start in quite some time. But, I think they’re overrated. Utah will take care of business this weekend.
Boston College (+20.5) vs. Clemson | Clemson is obviously going to win this game. But, with the way they’ve been playing offensively this season I’m not confident in their ability to beat anyone by three scores.
Kansas State (-2) at Iowa State | Kansas State is for real this year. It will be a tough one on the road, but they’ll be going up against a struggling Cyclones team.
Indiana (+22.5) vs. Michigan | Michigan is likely to win this one, it’s just a question of by how much. Teams have been able to find some success against the Wolverines through the air this season and Hoosier QB Connor Bazelak has thrown for nearly 1,400 yards on the season. Indiana is probably not going to have enough offense to pull the upset but they can keep it to three touchdowns or less.
Kansas (+7) vs. TCU | The big question here is, how will the Jayhawks handle pressure? A Top 25 ranking, ESPN Game Day, and a national television audience all bring a lot of pressure for a team that’s already had a dream season.
LSU (+3) vs. Tennessee | I expect this game to be a lot of fun. Both defenses are stingy against the run but Tennessee is allowing 300 yards per game to opponents through the air. That sets the stage for the Tigers to be in the hunt for an upset.
TCU (-6.5) at Kansas | The Jayhawks have made an incredible run so far to start the season, but unfortunately for them, life comes back to normal this week as the Horned Frogs will win big in Lawrence.
Tennessee (-2.5) at LSU | I’m not convinced that the Volunteers are a Top 10 team, but they’re significantly better than the Tigers this year.
Kansas State (-1) at Iowa State | The Wildcats are a legit dark horse to win the Big 12, while the Cyclones are rebuilding. Even though it’s in Ames this one shouldn’t be within a touchdown.
