Week 12 wasn’t kind to us as we put together a combined 3-6 record. It looks like our season champion is going to come down to the wire with next week’s conference championship game.
Here’s our latest attempt at picking some Top 25 games against the spread. Feel free to let us know where you agree and disagree by dropping a note in the comments section.
Last Week’s Picks
Craig
USC (-5.5) vs. Notre Dame | This is less about my confidence in USC and more about my lack of confidence in Notre Dame. Caleb Williams and the offense will be too much for the Fighting Irish to handle.
Kansas State (-12) vs. Kansas | Kansas has been looking a lot more like the Kansas we all know and love the last half of the season. Meanwhile, the Wildcats need this win to make it to the Big 12 championship game. I’m expecting Kansas State to take care of business in this one.
TCU (-10) vs. Iowa State | The Cyclones greatest strength is their defense. But how good will they be against an offense of TCU’s caliber. I’m taking the Horned Frogs to win in a big way.
Matt
Cincinnati (-1) vs. Tulane | Defense is going to be the theme of this game. Both squads are incredibly solid but the advantage goes to the home team in a game that is as close to a pick’em as you’ll find.
Baylor (+8.5) at Texas | Baylor is physical up front on both sides of the ball and they have a rushing attack (202 YPG) that can grind clock and keep this close. I think ultimately it’ll be within a score, either way, at the end which certainly lends towards picking the Bears as a multi-score underdog.
NC State (+6.5) at North Carolina | It seems like all that North Carolina does is play in close games. That makes this one a pretty easy pick, especially considering that it’s a rivalry.
Zack
Baylor (+9) at Texas | Baylor is slightly better than believed or Texas is slightly worse than believed. Either way, I’m taking the Bears to cover.
TCU (-10) vs. ISU | I have a hard time taking TCU to win a game by more than 10 points when they’ve only done that once in conference play, but the Cyclones are bad, and the Horned Frogs are at home, so that’s enough for me.
Notre Dame (+5.5) at USC | The Fighting Irish are more battle-tested, and I think that might be the difference in this game. I’m taking Notre Dame to at least cover the spread against the Trojans.
