Series History
The Thunder is 0-1 against the Sixers so far this season (0-1 at home, 0-0 on the road).
Why the Thunder Will Cover (+10)
OKC has been a double-digit underdog just once this season (against the Celtics in Boston on November 14th), and they covered easily, losing by just 4. Philadelphia blew out the Thunder just a couple of weeks ago, particularly because Joel Embiid is a matchup problem for OKC, who doesn’t have a true big man at the moment. In that game, Embiid didn’t dominate scoring the ball like he can, but he forced the Thunder defense to collapse on him, opening up shots for other guys, who knocked down threes at a high rate. OKC will have to play much better all-around defense if they want to avoid getting blown out by the Sixers yet again, but I think they’re up to the task.
Staff Picks
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (233)
Both of these teams hit the over on the point total 60% of the time, and with scoring trends lately, I can see this one hitting the over. Either the Sixers blowout the Thunder entirely, which results in a lot of points, or OKC keeps it close, which will also result in a lot of points. Either way, 233 total points scored isn’t enough to scare me away, so I’m taking the over here.
