Why the Thunder Will Cover (-1.5)
OKC is slightly favored at home tonight against the Nets, which might be a little surprising. Brooklyn has had a similar path as OKC since the All-Star Break, losing several games followed by a string of wins, and they should make for a pretty even matchup. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has sat out a few second games in back-to-backs, and when he’s returned, he’s managed to play at a high level on high efficiency. I expect nothing less from him tonight, and with the way the team has played lately, even without Shai, they should take care of business and get a win in front of the home crowd.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (233.5)
Brooklyn has won 5 of their last 6, and in 4 of those 5 wins, they have scored at least 115 points, more than a point over their season average. Meanwhile, OKC has hasn’t scored more than 110 in their last 3. The Thunder is due for a scoring outburst, and I think it’s going to happen tonight, resulting in a lot of points. I’m taking the over on the point total.
