From the circle, Laurin Krings held Cal to just one run, off four hits, while striking out three.
How Oklahoma Got Here
The Sooners plated runs in each of the first three innings before exploding for six in the fourth to send Hofstra into the loser’s bracket with an 11-0 rout. Grace Lyons and Jayda Coleman each hit 2-run homers as Oklahoma collected its 11 runs off 12 hits. Nicole May held the Pride to just one hit while striking out five before being relieved by Storako at the start of the fifth.
OU holds a 54-41 advantage over Mizzou. The Tigers hold the series lead over the Sooners in Norman 20-18. The teams have met twice in the postseason, splitting the contests. In 2011, Mizzou knocked OU out of the 2011 WCWS with a 4-1 win. Most recently, OU evened the postseason score with a 7-0 win in the 2018 Norman Regional final.
Did you know? Oklahoma’s last Big 12 conference series loss was to the Tigers in 2011 in Columbia.
The winner of this game will be finished for the day, advance to tomorrow’s championship round, and become just a win away from the Super Regionals. The loser will wait and face the winner of Cal and Hofstra for the opportunity to advance to the championship round. Whoever advances through the loser’s bracket will have to win twice on Sunday in order to advance to the Super Regionals.
