We’re back in the black!!! After yesterday’s trifecta on the Brewers and White Sox we’re 11-7 on the week and in the plus $18.41, on imaginary $10 wagers. Now that we’re on the plus side of the ledger, we’re going to try and grow our imaginary winnings with Baltimore (72-45) at Seattle (63-53).
The Pitchers
Baltimore’s Kyle Bradish (7-6, 3.19 ERA) has picked up two wins in his last five appearances. He’s allowing an average of two earned runs per appearance, over his last five, with 23 combined strikeouts. In his last outing (August 6th against the Mets) he allowed no earned runs and struck out five batters, but he only went 4.2 innings.
Seattle is going to throw Bryce Miller who has also picked up two wins in his last five starts. His last performance came on August 6th when he struck out ten batters, and allowed just one run, against the Angels. Miller is allowing an average of 2.8 earned runs, over his last five starts, and has struck out 30 batters.
The Lineups
Baltimore is powered by Anthony Santander and Austin Hays. Santander leads the Orioles in home runs (21) and RBI (64) while Hays leads the team in batting average (.281). Four players in Baltimore’s lineup have recorded at least one hit against Miller, including Santander who is 2-2 and has taken him deep. The Orioles have scored 17 runs over the last five games.
Seattle’s offense is led by the three-headed monster of Cal Raleigh (20 home runs), J.P. Crawford (.266 batting average), and Eugenio Suarez (72 RBI). The Mariners have scored 20 runs over the last five games. Five batters in the lineup have recorded at least one hit against Bradish, and four will be facing him for the first time tonight.
The Streaks
Baltimore has won two of its last three games, including a 1-0 win over the Mariners on Saturday night. Seattle’s Saturday loss ended an eight-game winning streak.
The Odds
Orioles -1.5
Orioles -115 on the moneyline
O/U 8
We’ve got another home dog tonight. The Mariners have been one of the hottest teams in baseball and their one loss over the last nine games came by just a single run. I love Seattle as a +1.5 underdog and, not only that, I like them to win the game outright. The under paid off for us last night and we’re going to run with it again tonight.
