Oklahoma’s 62-game winning streak faces a monumental challenge as the Sooners open up the Mary Nutter Classic on Friday night. Waiting for OU in Cathedral City, California are the surging Mississippi State Bulldogs. Currently holding a No. 25/20 ranking, MSU blasted their way past #8 Clemson (6-3) and #13 Utah (10-2) last weekend in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Now they’ve got their eyes locked in on a bigger target with the top-ranked Sooners.
Oklahoma has risen to the occasion against ranked opponents this season. They blanked No. 9/11 Duke 3-0 before outlasting No. 10/7 Washington 4-3. However, this could legitimately be their biggest challenge yet.
