Why the Thunder Will Cover (+1)
This game feels like a trap in a lot of ways. OKC is playing in a road SEGABABA—granted, the trip wasn’t a long one from Phoenix to LA—while the Lakers have been at home for a week and haven’t played since Saturday. LA’s injury report has plenty of question marks and game time decisions, and while OKC was mostly healthy going into last night’s matchup with the Suns, there are several guys who experienced some level of bumps and bruises, so any number of guys could be sitting out as a result. If most everybody plays for both teams, which I feel like that’s the most likely case, then I think OKC is good enough to get a win on the road. Either way, it’s going to be a close one.
Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (238.5)
Both of these teams CAN score in bunches, but OKC is going to be a bit weary after last night’s battle to the end with the Suns, and LA isn’t exactly 100% healthy, so I think the offenses are going to take the biggest hit. That doesn’t necessarily mean we’re going to see a lot of outstanding defense, but I do think the Thunder’s youth is the benefactor of the situation, and I anticipate some defensive plays as a result. So for tonight, I’m taking the under on the point total.
