Watch: Jocelyn Alo Shatters Bat During 2024 Savannah Bananas Debut

Softball superstar Jocelyn Alo, the NCAA’s career home run leader, has taken her talents to a new field – for a month at least. In April, Alo signed with the Savannah Bananas, an exhibition baseball team known for their Harlem Globetrotters-esque antics, for their banana ball games. She’ll continue with the team for the month of May, while also juggling commitments with the Oklahoma City Spark and Athletes Unlimited.

In her debut plate appearance with the Bananas, for this season, she ultimately struck out, but not before shattering her bat on a foul ball up the third base line.

While with the Sooners, Alo rewrote the record books. She became the NCAA’s all-time leader in home runs, slugging percentage, and total bases. Her dominance wasn’t limited to power hitting, as she also holds Oklahoma’s career records for batting average, on-base percentage, and RBI. She capped off her incredible collegiate career with back-to-back national championships and consecutive USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year awards.
