We’ve got a total of eight games on the slate for Week 2, with three of us weighing in on the Arkansas vs. Oklahoma State matchup. Collectively we went 6-6 last week and three of us are hovering over .500 on the season.
Week 2 Picks
Caleb
Oklahoma State (-7.5) vs. Arkansas | The Hogs showed they can score last week, but I’m not sure they can stop Ollie Gordon. I expect OSU to score a lot of points in the game.
Utah (-15) vs. Baylor | I think Utah is coming into this game looking to make a statement to the rest of the big 12.
Tennessee (-10) vs NC State: The Wolfpack didn’t look to impressive against W Carolina. I expect Tennessee to be able to move the ball at will against NC State.
Craig
Tulane (+9) vs Kansas State | The Green Wave have won some big games in recent years and they seem to be rolling again this year. I’d say Kansas State wins this game, but the Green Wave will keep it close.
Kansas (-5.5) at Illinois | It’s still going to take some time to get used to, but Lance Leipold has made the Jayhawks a serious threat in college football. Despite being on the road I think Kansas wins this one by at least a touchdown.
Utah (-15) vs Baylor | The Utes are my pick to win the Big 12 this year. Although this will be a non-conference matchup, I still believe Utah will look to set the tone and send a message to the rest of the Big 12 with a big showing over Baylor.
Matt
Michigan (+7.5) vs. Texas | Texas’ offense has been potent, but Michigan’s defense will present a tough challenge.
Oklahoma State (-7.5) vs. Arkansas | Arkansas has shown improvement, but Oklahoma State’s home-field advantage and defensive prowess could be the deciding factors in this matchup.
Bowling Green (+35) at Penn State | While Bowling Green may be able to put up some points, Penn State’s overall talent and experience should give them a comfortable victory.
Zack
Houston Cougars at Oklahoma Sooners (-29) | This spread isn’t big enough. UNLV beat Houston by 20, so surely OU can beat them by dang near 40.
Texas Longhorns at Michigan Wolverines (+7.5) | Texas dominated Colorado State in their opener, but being favored by more than a touchdown on the road in the Big House seems like a tall order. The Longhorns should win, but I’m guessing it’s by no more than a field goal or two.
Arkansas Razorbacks at Oklahoma State Cowboys (-7.5) | I usually try to stay away from taking my own team as a lock, but I’m thinking the Cowboys manage to outscore the Razorbacks by double digits in Stillwater.
