Series History

The Thunder is 1-0 against the Rockets so far this season (1-0 at home, 0-0 on the road).

Why the Thunder Will Cover (-1.5)

The Houston Rockets lead the league in rebounding with 4 players averaging at least 6.3 per game. In his four game in a Thunder jersey, Isaiah Hartenstein has averaged 14.0 rebounds. Hartenstein’s addition to OKC has made a drastic difference in the Thunder’s paint presence, particularly with the absence of Chet Holmgren. I see him slowing down what the Rockets like to do in the paint, and that would be bad news for Houston, which is a bottom-5 3-point shooting team. I’m taking OKC to cover and finish out the road trip with another win.

Why the Game Will Hit the Over (221.5)

The Thunder and the Rockets are not just the top two teams in the Western Conference; they’re also the top two teams in defensive rating. While defense typically spells a lower-scoring game, I’m thinking both teams create enough chaos to score a buckets in transition, which will tip the point total over the mark.
