Oklahoma vs. Navy: A Look Ahead At The Armed Forces Bowl

Oklahoma, a program synonymous with bowl game success, will face Navy in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl on Friday at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. This marks the 58th bowl appearance for the Sooners, a testament to their consistent excellence throughout their storied history.

The Sooners, with 31 bowl victories, boast one of the most impressive bowl game records in all of college football. Their 26-consecutive bowl appearances, second only to Georgia, underscore their sustained success. This year, the Sooners navigated a challenging SEC schedule, facing eight ranked opponents, including a formidable slate of SEC foes who collectively boast a winning percentage of .722.

Oklahoma (6-6) vs. Navy (9-3)

Kickoff: 11AM Central

Television: ESPN

Location: Amon G. Carter Stadium (Ft. Worth, Texas)

Odds: Oklahoma -3 (O/U 43.5)

While the 6-6 record in 2024 may not reflect the program’s lofty standards, Oklahoma remains a program steeped in tradition and rich in history. With 50 all-time conference championships and 27 seasons with 11 or more wins, the Sooners have consistently been a force in college football.

This Armed Forces Bowl provides an opportunity for Oklahoma to finish the season on a positive note and maintain the program’s high standards. A victory would not only solidify another winning season, but also provide valuable momentum heading into the 2025 season. OU’s only non-winning season since 1999 came in 2022 (6-7). Boise State is the only program with winning seasons every year from 1999-2024.
