Series History
OKC is 1-0 against New Orleans so far this season (1-0 at home, 0-0 on the road) and has won 7 straight against the Pelicans, as well as 5 consecutive wins at the Smoothie King Center.
Why the Thunder Will Cover (-17.5)
In the first meeting between these two teams a couple of weeks ago, OKC absolutely dominated, winning by 29 points, in one of those games where Shai Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t even play in the fourth quarter. This time, Zion Williamson is out with a strained hamstring, so I don’t expect it to go much better for New Orleans. Also, the Pelicans are playing in the second game of a back-to-back, while OKC is coming off a day of rest. Give me another blowout win for the Thunder.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (226.5)
OKC will likely put on a defensive clinic, holding the Pelicans below their league-low season average of 108.4 points per game, but I think the Thunder wins by enough either way to cover the point total and hit the over. The Thunder has scoring talent all over, and the Pelicans are not a great defensive team at any level.
