The calendar has flipped to July, and with it, Oklahoma’s 2027 recruiting board has become remarkably clear.
The Sooners’ pursuit of four-star cornerback Brandon Sherrard officially ended Wednesday when the Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek standout announced his commitment to Texas. It was a disappointing result for Brent Venables’ staff, which made a late charge after climbing into serious contention during the summer official visit season.
But while losing Sherrard stings, it doesn’t change the bigger picture.
Instead, it sharpens the focus.
With 26 commitments already in the fold and one of the nation’s top-five recruiting classes essentially secured, Oklahoma’s attention now turns almost exclusively to two remaining targets: Utah edge rusher Uhila Wolfgramm and Texas defensive back Jaiden Fields.
If the Sooners land both, they’ll finish one of the most complete defensive recruiting classes in recent program history.
