Kickers. You can’t play football without them and you seldom think of them until you need them. They are often either the biggest heroes on the field, or the biggest goats. The popularity of a kicker can rise and fall on a snap, a hold, foot traction or the wind.
Oklahoma State’s Ben Grogan is a kicker who is enjoying seeing his stock rise, both among the fanbase and with NFL scouts. Going into his senior season, Grogan currently ranks fourth in school history in points scored and is second in both PATs attempted and made. Even better, he’s on pace to take over the top spot in all three of those categories.
A product of Martin High School in Arlington, Texas, Grogan was ranked as a 3-star prospect by Rivals who also had him tabbed as the nation’s #9 kicking prospect. In addition to Oklahoma State, he also picked up scholarship offers from Kansas and Memphis.
