2016 Oklahoma Sooners Football Countdown To Kickoff | 13 Days!

13Days

Senior safety Ahmad Thomas has started twenty-six games for Oklahoma over the last two seasons and has played in thirty-eight games over the last three. During that span he has recorded 159 total tackles, including 75 in each of the last two seasons.

After being tabbed as a First Team All-Big 12 selection by Phil Steele, and Second Team by the coaches, in 2015, Thomas returns as a key leader in what should be a stout OU secondary. The 6-0/215 Miami, Florida native grabbed a career-high three interceptions and recorded three pass break ups which is also a career-high for a season.

Thomas was a 4-star recruit and the #27 safety in the nation coming out of Miami Central High School, per 247Sports. In addition to the Sooners he also received scholarship offers from Auburn, Florida State, Notre Dame, North Carolina State and West Virginia.

He was an early enrollee at Oklahoma which allowed him to participate in spring ball and ultimately resulted in him seeing the field as a true freshman in 2013.
