Countdown to Tip-Off | 37 Days

When it comes to putting up video game stats, Russell Westbrook is no stranger. He has been criticized for everything like taking absurd shots, not passing the ball enough, or even playing with too much aggression. If there is one that factor is guaranteed, it is that Russ plays with the passion of many players combined into a single man.

As of the end of the 2015-2016 season, Russell Westbrook has a career total of 37 regular season triple-doubles. Russ ranks second among active players, trailing only Lebron James, who has 42 total.  Westbrook’s 37 triple-doubles are good enough to put him at 6th all-time for triple-doubles in the regular season.

Not only does Russell Westbrook have an incredible number of triple-doubles, the manner in which he has acquired them has come in a number of different ways. Russ earned his most recent triple-double on April 11, 2016 in a 112-79 win against the L.A. Lakers in only 17 minutes 35 seconds, which ranks second all-time for the fastest triple-double. Westbrook is also one of five players to record a Christmas Day triple-double, which he did back in the 2013-14 season.

Last season, Russell Westbrook earned an individual single-season high 18 triple-doubles, and it would come as no surprise if he were to top even that in the upcoming season. Russell Westbrook is one of the clear front-runners for the NBA’s MVP this year, and he will easily be in talks as he will undoubtedly put up impressive stats all year long.
