Recruiting is often a slimy process, and part of that process is de-commitments. It happens to every school, so those who claim that schools should stop recruiting a player after he gives a verbal commitment are crazy.

Now that Charlie Strong has been fired, it appears that it’s open season on the Texas commitment list, and the Sooners would be silly not to attempt to pounce on several players. Here are the guys that the Sooners could quite possibly make a move on, now that Strong is out.
4-Star DE LaGaryonn Carson 6-5/255 from Texarkana, TX.
Carson would be quite the coup for the Sooners, as he appears to be all but locked into the Longhorns. He was one of the earliest commits for the Horns in the class of 2017, but it never hurts to check back in. Carson would be a massive addition to the one area that really needs multiple commits in the class of 2017.
3-Star DE Taquon Graham 6-4/245 from Temple, TX.
This is the guy the Sooners will likely hone in on as he was reportedly down to the Sooners and the Longhorns before his commitment. If I was going to pick any player to flip, it would be Graham.
3-Star DB Kobe Boyce 6-0/170 from Corinth, TX
Boyce has already visited the Sooners officially and lots of rumors were already swirling about his potential switch to the Sooners. Could Strong’s dismissal be the final push needed for Boyce? I would guess yes.
4-Star WR Damion Miller 6-2/170 from Tyler, TX.
The Sooners are still searching for WRs to fill out the class of 2017. It wouldn’t shock me to see them reach out to Miller, although I’m not sure much attention has been given to him so far by the Sooners
5-Star DT Marvin Wilson 6-4/320 from Houston, TX.
While Wilson is not a Texas commit, many (me included) believed that the Longhorns were at the top of his list. Now Texas could ultimately be the pick, there is no doubt this gives the Sooners an even greater chance.
As far as transfers, it would be nearly impossible in my opinion to see a player transfer from Texas to OU, as they would likely be blocked.
PREDICTIONS: The Sooners will land Taquon Graham and Kobe Boyce, while giving them an even greater chance at Marvin Wilson.
