Sooners Pound Illinois-Chicago 16-1 In Third Consecutive Run-Rule Win

Oklahoma seems to have found its swing once again. Pitching for the Sooners have been solid but hitting has been suspect at times. Not recently though as OU hasn’t dropped a game since February 25th. Included in Oklahoma’s current 10-game winning streak are three consecutive run-rule wins, by a combined score of 33-2.

The latest was a 16-1 win, in five innings, over Illinois-Chicago where the Sooners knocked 14 hits into play. Ten different players recorded a hit, four of the multiple hits, and ten batters knocked in at least one RBI. Sydney Romero and Fale Aviu each batted in three RBI by producing two hits each.

From the circle, Mariah Lopez picked up her seventh win of the season by throwing three scoreless innings, where she allowed just one hit, and struck out six batters. Melanie Olmos and Nicole Mendes finished off the game for Oklahoma, with Mendes being responsible for the run.
