Oklahoma’s defensive coaches are literally scouring the nation looking for defensive line talent in their 2018 signing class. The latest prep athlete to receive an offer from the Sooners is Bradenton, FL (Braden River) strongside defensive end Taylor Upshaw.

With a growing list of offers (15 schools and counting) Oklahoma has been in on Upshaw for a while now. Ranked by 247Sports as the 107th best prep prospect in the state of Florida, Upshaw visited Norman back in February for OU’s junior day. It was there that speculation began to grow that the Sooners had offered him but the 6-5/240 defensive end made it official via Twitter on Thursday.

Oklahoma currently has seven defensive ends on their roster with DJ Ward being the lone senior. A stacked group of sophomores comprise the core of this position and Tulsa Union’s Jordan Kelly is currently the lone defensive end commit for OU in the 2018 recruiting class.
