The Oklahoma State Cowboys stand 3-1 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Taking home a 99-71 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2017, it looks like they’ll once again be paired against one another. Set for January 27th, the Cowboys will travel to Fayetteville to take on the SEC opponent.
Oklahoma State owns a 37-14 all-time edge over Arkansas and boasts a current five game win streak over the SEC school. Hoping the trend continues, the Cowboys have helped the Big 12 retain the trophy awarded to the winning conference. Yet, fans may be a bit upset at the refusal of the Challenge to branch out finding new pairings for OSU.
Over the past four pairing, O-State has played three different opponents from the SEC. Moving forward to this year, the number remains at three despite it being the fifth year of entering the Challenge. Here are the past results:
2017: OSU 99, Arkansas 71 (Stillwater, Okla.)
2016: OSU 74, Auburn 63 (Auburn, Ala.)
2015: South Carolina 74, OSU 49 (Columbia, S.C.)
2014: OSU 79, South Carolina 52 (Stillwater, Okla.)
The question is: are fans happy while the program continues to face the same opponent in back-to-back seasons?
