The Big 12 Conference announced a full slate of games — along with times and viewing opportunities — on Monday morning. With every program in action on October 14th for week seven, the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns no longer hold the 11:00 AM CT time slot. For the first time since 2013, the Red River Rivalry is set to take place in the Cotton Bowl at 2:30 PM.
The #Big12FB 📺 schedule is set for week 7.

The matchup pits two up and coming, first year head coaches in Tom Herman and Lincoln Riley on opposite sides of the field. When the two take the field, it will mark the first time since 1947 that both programs have had first year head coaches opposing one another. During the previous occasion, Bud Wilkinson and Blair Cherry squared off in a chess match on the grid iron.
Of course, we know Wilkinson built the Oklahoma Sooners into a dominating force that propelled the program to the top of the rankings. While the hope is for Riley to continue the tradition, the game is much different these days. No one is expected a 47+ game win streak at anytime under the direction of the recently minted head coach.
Needless to say, rivalries always bring out the best in those on opposite sides of the fence. Buckle up and prepare for a ride come 2:30 PM on October 14th!
