Oklahoma Sooners Football | Injury Report 10.3.17

Curtis Bolton | Linebacker

Yesterday, the Oklahoma Sooners announced that Curtis Bolton would undergo season-ending ankle surgery. Through four games this season, the junior recorded five tackles. Listed on the initial depth chart as two positions, the loss of the linebacker brings ups questions of depth. However, it also puts pressure on those in starting roles to continue to perform at a high level.

Bolton joins six others who have been sidelined for the remainder of the year due to injury.

Matt Romar | Defensive Tackle

Continuing evaluation, the status of Matt Romar remains in question. Suffering an injury against Tulane, the absence of this defensive lineman has not gone unnoticed. A dominating force in the middle, Romar has been upgraded to a “game time decision” this weekend.

Others

After word of availability, Will Johnson as well as Robert Barnes failed to take the field against the Baylor Bears in the most recent outing.  Moving forward, that appears to be changing. Taking the field against Iowa State in the Big 12 Home Opener, those in attendance should expect to see the two safeties at some point.

Joining in on the fun, Cody Ford is also expected to make a return this weekend at guard.
