Oklahoma Sooners Basketball | Trae Young Earns NCAA Player of the Week

Early on in his career, Trae Young has displayed an elite skill level. Possessing unlimited range along with top notch vision and ball handling, the true freshman has burst onto the scene as a National Player of the Year candidate. Leading the nation in points per game, Young poured in 28 points against UTSA while adding eight assists and three steals.

Following up the performance, the Oklahoma Sooners hit the road to take on the then No. 25 USC Trojans. Lacing them up in Los Angeles, Young connected on 9-of-18 shot attempts for 29 points. Appearing to be unstoppable on the offensive side of the court, the youngster has positioned himself as one of the nation’s premier guards. Continuing to develop the skill set, many can only dream of obtaining the freshman’s confidence and feel for the game.

The effort on the court earned Young the NCAA’s Player of the Week honor in week five!
