Trae Young Ties NCAA Record As OU Wins Big

On Tuesday evening, Trae Young become the first player in twenty years to record at least 20 points and 20 assists. Finishing the night with 26 points and 22 assists, the effort from the freshman tied an NCAA record. However Young also sparked a potent offense. Eclipsing the one hundred point barrier the Oklahoma Sooners downed Northwestern State by a final of 105-68.

Jumping into the rankings this week, No. 17 Oklahoma jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Continuing to pour in the points, Brady Manek picked up where he left off against WSU. Adding 22 points of his own, this freshman duo may be one of the best in Sooner history. Joining in on the fun, Kameron McGusty connected for another 15 of his own. The trio nearly out scored NWSU on their own.

Getting one final test before squaring off with a ranked TCU program, OU plays in front of a home crowd on Friday. Their opponent? Northwestern!
