The Oklahoma Sooners are preparing to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff Semi-Final hosted by the Rose Bowl. Since arriving in sunny California, the Heisman winning quarterback, Baker Mayfield began to miss events. Despite missing the team trip to Disneyland, the senior continued to practice with the rest of the squad.
Fast forward to Friday, the quarterback was one of five Sooners scheduled to entertain questions from the media in attendance. However, Mayfield failed to make an appearance leading to more questions surrounding the health of the star athlete.
No Baker Mayfield this morning. #Sooners left him at the hotel due to illness.

As the panel of players and coaches deflected question after question according to John Shinn of Oklahoma DieHards, it’s clear that no one is willing to give answers. While the story line grows just ahead of the Rose Bowl, head coach Lincoln Riley has a tall task ahead.
Knowing Mayfield has yet to miss a practice, he’s expected to continue the trend. Stay tuned as we follow the story as it unfolds in Pasadena.
