Oklahoma Returns From Phoenix 5-0

Oklahoma wrapped up their visit to Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday with a 7-0 win over Pacific in a game where they showed power both from the plate and from the circle.

A three-run blast, to left center field, by Lea Wodach helped the Sooners to a five-run second inning. Jocelyn Alo would score off a Caleigh Clifton double in the third. Then Kelsie Arnold crossed home plate on a Sydney Romero sacrifice to complete the scoring.

Paige Parker continued her dominance from the pitching circle by allowing just one hit and striking out six batters in five innings of work. She was relieved by Nicole Mendes who kept the shutout alive over the final two innings.

Top-Ranked Oklahoma returned from the GCU Kickoff Tournament with a 5-0 record, having outscored their opponents by a combined 35 runs to 7 and are currently riding a three-game streak in which they’ve shutout their opponent.

Next up is the Troy Cox Classic in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Sooners will get started on Friday with games against Ball State and New Mexico State.
