Nicole Pendley crushed a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first inning and then let Paige Parker and Paige Lowary do what they do best. They two senior pitchers combined to strike out twelve batters in route to a 4-2 victory over #17 South Carolina.
Parker picked up her tenth win of the season after fanning eight batters and allowing two runs on three hits in five innings of work. Lowary picked up her second save of the season by throwing two scoreless innings, in which she struck out four batters, to close out the game.
All of Oklahoma’s scoring came in the first inning off Pendley’s swing. Facing a full count, and with two outs, Pendly’s home run scored Sydney Romero, Jocelyn Alo and Fale Aviu, as well as herself. On the day Pendley went 2-for-3 from the plate, with the grand slam being the fourth of her career.
