The Big 12 has been around for a long time, 22 years to be exact, and during that time the Sooners have never boasted a 6-0 mark in conference play. That changed on Saturday when Oklahoma completed back-to-back weekend sweeps of conference opponents with a 6-1 win over Baylor.
Brady Lindsly brought in the first run of the night when his double, down the left-field line, scored Brandon Zaragoza in the bottom of the opening frame.
The Bears tied the game in the top of the second but a Tyler Hardman double, to right-center field, broke the gridlock once and for all as it pushed Kyle Mendenhall across home plate.
Cade Cavalli and Steele Walker both sent two-run homers out of the park in the bottom of the fourth to extend Oklahoma’s lead to the final of 6-1.

Nathan Wiles picked up his second win of the season after throwing five innings. During his time on the mound, Wiles struck out three and allowed just the single run off five hits. He was relieved by Dylan Grove in the sixth. Grove picked up his first save of the season by pitching a shutout over the final four frames, allowing just one hit.
Winners in six of their last seven games, Oklahoma will travel to Tulsa on Tuesday night to play ORU before traveling to Ft. Worth next weekend to play TCU.
