Jocelyn Alo On Pace To Break Lauren Chamberlain’s Single Season Home Run Record

There’s no denying that a handful of impressive hitters have come through the University of Oklahoma. One name eclipsed the rest as Lauren Chamberlain elevated her game to heights unseen. Recording a school record, the former star posted 30 home runs in a single season — twice. Others have challenged the number, but no one has come close to topping the number set by Chamberlain until now.

As a true freshman, Jocelyn Alo stepped onto the scene with quite a bit of fanfare. Living up to the reputation, the Hawaii native has continuously delivered for Patty Gasso. In Sunday’s finale against the Texas Longhorns, the budding star went into airplane mode sending two pitches deep over the wall.

The effort marked home runs number 22 and 23 for the freshman. Averaging .49 blasts per game, Alo needs roughly fourteen more outings to tie the mark set by Chamberlain. With three games remaining in the regular season followed by an expected deep run in the Women’s College World Series, there are ample opportunities for Alo to set a new record.

Alo is just getting started and we are witnessing the birth of a star. What records will she hold when it’s all said and done? Only time will tell!
