Oklahoma Takes Bedlam Series With 3-2 Win In Stillwater

Things didn’t come quite as easy for the Sooners in Stillwater as it did in Norman but a huge second inning from the plate and a dominating relief performance by Paige Lowary put them within one game of perfection.

The Cowgirls scored first when a single from Sydney Pennington, in the bottom of the opening frame, scored Vanessa Shippy for Oklahoma State’s first run of the Bedlam Series.

The top of the second belonged to Oklahoma as the Sooners took control with a three-run inning. Nicole Pendley, Reagan Rogers, and Lea Wodach all scored in the inning and it would be the only time on the evening that OU would have runners cross home plate.

OSU pulled to within a run in the top of the third, thanks again to Sydney Pennington, but a pitching switch to Paige Lowary shut down any hope the Cowgirls had of a rally. Lowary struck out a season-high five batters to keep Oklahoma State scoreless over the final 4.2 innings and preserve the 3-2 win.

Lowary improved her season record to 7-1 and the Sooners moved to 46-3 on the season. Sitting at 17-0 in conference play, Oklahoma is one final win away from a perfect Big 12 season. They will close out the regular season Saturday evening, in Norman, with the final installment of Bedlam.
