Friday’s Recap
Both of the opening day games of the Norman Regional ended in a run rule, setting up the first opportunity to advance to Sunday’s championship and two elimination games as well.
Tulsa sent Missouri into the elimination round by way of a 9-1 victory, in five innings. Rylie Spell hit her first career grand slam, in the top of the fourth and pitcher Emily Watson held the Tigers to just one run, off four hits, while striking out three batters.
Oklahoma blasted Boston University 9-0 in a game that also lasted just five innings. The Sooners sent fifteen batters to the plate in an 8-run fourth that was highlighted by a 3-RBI triple from Sydney Romero and a 2-run homer by Jocelyn Alo.
Paige Parker and Paige Lowary combined to keep the Terriers scoreless and struck out five batters in the process.
