Over the course of his career, Steele Walker continuously improved on the baseball diamond. Playing in the outfield at he University of Oklahoma, the junior’s effort have not gone unnoticed. On Monday, the junior was named a semi-finalist for the Golden Spikes Award — and award presented to the nation’s premier amateur.

It should come as no surprise as Walker’s name first appeared in 2016. At that time, Louisville Slugger named the rising star to the Freshman All-American Team. During his freshman campaign, the Prosper, Texas product produced 76 hits to go alongside 53 runs batted in. Following up the success, Walker earned All-Conference First Team honors as a sophomore in 2017.

Now, the outfielder is currently leading the Oklahoma Sooners in various statistical categories.
