Kyler Murray may have been late to a team practice late this week and, as a result, could be facing some sort of disciplinary action as the team hosts Baylor on Saturday afternoon. It truly was no big deal…until the internet found out.
Late Friday night Twitter began buzzing about the potential of Oklahoma’s starting quarterback being suspended and suddenly Sooner Nation (at least those who are night owls) was filled with frustration, fear, denial, and even a little bit of rage.
The reality of the situation is that Murray seems to have actually been late and as a result he most likely won’t start when Oklahoma’s offense takes the field for the first time. That said, the chances are higher that he’ll miss just one play than they are he’ll miss more than an entire offensive series. To reiterate, this is a very minor issue.
On the season, Murray is 68.2% of his passes for 1,028 yards and 11 touchdowns to 2 interceptions. He’s also second on the team in rushing with 240 yards, coming at an average of 6.7 yards per carry.
