While all attention centered around the changes happening at the University of Oklahoma, the Sooners remained poised in the face of adversity. Despite a second quarter meltdown, the program claimed yet another road win over the weekend. However, the improvement to 6-1 on the year came with a bit of a cost as a couple of players were lost to injury.
Along the offensive line, Jonathan Alvarez found himself on the preseason Rimington Watch list. Of course, that was before losing the starting job to Creed Humphrey midway through the season. Continuing to find a way onto the field, Alvarez suffered an undisclosed injury on Saturday. The news places the lineman on the questionable list for the upcoming contest.
Adding himself to the questionable list as well, Trey Sermon left the game with a leg injury after racking up 110 yards. Fortunately, another back posted a career day leaving fans optimistic about the position. Still, Sermon remains a vital piece to the puzzle that is the Sooner offense. Without any definitive information on the injury, we’ll post an update as soon as more is known.
Until then, Boomer!
